Épisode Retrouvailles S01E19 - The Fosters Saison 1

• Appartement de Donald

Donald propose à Callie d'entrer mais elle reste sur le seuil de la porte et veut seulement savoir ce qu'il va dire à Jude lorsqu'il le verra puisqu'il a arrêté de leur écrire il y a très longtemps et qu'il n'a pas cherché à reprendre contact à sa sortie de prison. Il lui répond alors qu'il voulait prendre son temps pour remettre sa vie en place pour ensuite les récupérer. Callie s'énerve parce que cela va rendre Jude confus concernant l'adoption de Stef et Lena et tandis que Donald lui demande de lui donner une chance, elle répond que c'est trop tard et s'en va.

Générique

• Chez les Foster

Callie rentre chez elle et avoue à Stef et Lena qu'elle n'a pas été à son groupe de soutien mais elle ne dit qu'elle était chez Donald. Lena veut lui rappeler les conditions de sa probation mais Callie répond qu'elle le sait, qu'elle avait juste passé une mauvaise journée et ne voulait pas y aller.

Stef et Lena se rendent compte que la visite prévue entre Donald et Jude bouleverse plus Callie qu'elle ne le laisse paraître mais Stef pense qu'il faut juste lui donner du temps pour qu'elle en parle.

Dans la chambre de Brandon, Jesus s'installe et Mariana pique une crise parce qu'elle aussi, elle voudrait sa chambre. Jesus dit qu'il a besoin d'être seul pour se concentrer mais Stef intervient et les sort tous les deux de la chambre puisque personne n'emménagera dedans.

Dans la cuisine, Callie ne touche pas à son assiette et Jude vient la voir. Callie veut savoir s'il est sûr de vouloir voir son père et aussi comment il réagira si Donald dit qu'il veut les récupérer. Jude ne sait pas mais dit que malgré tout, il reste leur père.

• Appartement de Mike

Alors que Mike est sous la douche, Brandon remercie Dani de lui avoir prêter l'argent. Il veut la rembourser mais elle dit que c'était un cadeau, que tout ce qu'il a à faire c'est d'aller à l'école et de reprendre le piano. Alors qu'il joue quelques notes, Mike les rejoint et est impressionné de le voir jouer puisqu'il n'avait pas touché au piano depuis qu'il avait emménagé. Il en profite pour parler à Dani et lui dire que tant que Brandon est là, il ne veut pas vivre avec elle puisqu'il ne veut pas que Brandon le partage avec quelqu'un d'autre.

• Lycée Anchor Beach

Brandon va voir Mariana et celle-ci lui annonce qu'elle a commencé à sortir avec Zac et qu'elle s'est fait larguée dans la même journée. Brandon la charrie et finit par demander comment tout le monde va et plus particulièrement Callie. Il lui annonce aussi qu'il est puni puisqu'il a dit la vérité à son père sur l'argent. Mariana lui dit qu'il a intérêt à vite revenir puisque Jesus veut reprendre sa chambre.

En cours de math, Jesus est perdu en algèbre et avoue à Emma qu'il ne comprend rien. Il lui annonce aussi qu'il n'est plus avec Lexi et qu'elle est repartie en Honduras. Jesus lui demande alors s'ils peuvent se voir pour réviser mais Emma l'envoie balader en disant qu'elle ne peut pas.

Alors qu'elle déjeune, Jesus vient voir Mariana pour marchander avec elle la chambre de Brandon. Ils se mettent d'accord sur 2 mois où Jesus fera les tâches ménagères de Jesus avant que la mère de Zac, Amanda n'arrive à leur hauteur. Elle semble très sympathique et demande à Mariana de venir le soir-même dîner chez eux afin de voir Zac qui ne va pas bien depuis leur rupture.

Dans le bureau de Lena, Stef, Timothy et elle discutent du don de sperme de Timothy. Stef ne comprend pas pourquoi il s'est proposé et il leur dit qu'il veut vraiment que des femmes aussi aimantes et courageuses qu'elles aient un bébé. Ils se mettent d'accord sur un contrat faisant abandonné ses droits à Timothy sur le bébé. Lena est excitée de voir que cela va vraiment se faire.

Alors qu'elle repart, Stef croise Mariana qui veut savoir si elle peut aller dîner chez Zac mais Stef lui dit qu'elle voulait inviter Brandon à manger pour qu'ils puissent tous discuter ensemble. Mariana s'inquiète et dit aussi que Brandon est puni et qu'il ne pourra donc pas venir.

• Fast-food

Callie va voir Daphne à son nouveau travail, serveuse dans un fast-food. Daphne ne veut pas lui parler mais Callie s'excuse de l'avoir accusé des vols des tablettes et lui demande de lui pardonner comme elle a déjà pu le faire pour elle. Callie en profite aussi pour lui dire qu'elle a revu son père.

• Appartement de Mike

Stef et Mike se disputent sur le fait que Mike n'a pas prévenu Stef avant de punir Brandon. Il lui dit qu'il sait ce que ça fait d'être tenu éloigné de sa vie mais qu'il est plutôt fier de Brandon puisqu'il est venu tout lui avouer et lui a redonné l'argent. Stef lui rappelle que légalement elle a la garde de Brandon et qu'il ne restera pas toujours chez lui avant de partir.

Dani rejoint Mike et lui dit qu'il a bien su gérer la situation mais que si Brandon doit repartir, autant qu'il le fasse bientôt pour ne pas créer d'autres problèmes. Mike refuse, disant que Brandon est heureux ici et qu'il ne veut pas se laisser manipuler par Stef.

• Chez les Foster

Alors qu'elle rentre, Stef tombe sur Lena qui lui dit qu'elle ovule et que c'est donc le moment de faire l'insémination. Stef n'est pas trop partante puisque le contrat n'est pas encore signé mais Lena lui rappelle que son taux d'hormones peut chuter à tout moment. Jesus arrive alors et leur annonce qu'après avoir marchander avec Mariana, c'est lui qui aura la chambre de Brandon mais Stef lui assure que non puisque Brandon va finir par revenir. Jesus le prend mal et s'en va. Lena se rend compte que la grossesse est peut-être précipitée mais Stef lui rappelle que pour une fois, il faut penser à elle et accepte de faire l'insémination dès maintenant.

• Fast-food

Callie demande à Daphne pourquoi est-ce qu'il aurait attendu aussi longtemps avant de les recontacter si Donald voulait vraiment les récupérer mais Daphne, comparant sa situation à la sienne et sa fille, lui répond que ça peut prendre du temps. Callie lui assure qu'elle n'a rien à voir avec son père et elle ne veut pas que Jude soit perdu dans son choix mais Daphne lui avoue qu'elle a l'impression que c'est elle qui est perdue.

• Maison de Zac

Mariana arrive chez Zac pour le dîner et celui-ci est surpris de la voir présente, il ne savait pas qu'elle venait. Amana l'accueille chaleureusement et alors qu'ils sont en train de manger, Amanda demande à Zac pourquoi il ne l'a jamais amenée mais lui rappelle que cette fois-ci, il ne l'a pas vraiment invitée non plus. Alors qu'elle demande à Mariana de parler d'elle, Amanda se lève subitement et se met à danser sur sa chanson préférée, Zac est très gêné et lui demande de se rasseoir. Elle demande alors qui a fait le dîner et Zac lui rappelle que c'est elle et elle se met à rire, disant que c'était une plaisanterie.

• Chez les Foster

Dans leur chambre, Jude parle avec Jesus du fait qu'il va revoir son père. Jesus lui dit juste d'être prudent pour ne pas que ça tourne comme lui et sa mère biologique.

• Appartement de Donald

Callie retourne chez son père pour lui demander pourquoi il a arrêté de lui écrire. Il lui avoue alors qu'à force d'être en prison, tu perds tout espoir et il avait peur un jour de recevoir une lettre d'elle le traitant de meurtrier. Callie lui dit qu'il n'en est pas un mais Donald lui assure que si puisqu'il a tué leur mère : il n'avait peut-être pas d'arme mais c'est de sa faute si elle est morte.

• Maison de Zac

Pendant le repas, Amanda insiste pour verser du vin rouge à Mariana qui n'en veut pas. Elle veut ensuite porter un toast à son ex-mari qui est parti il y a deux ans mais Zac lui dit que cela fait en fait dix ans. Une fois partie, Zac s'excuse du comportement de sa mère auprès de Mariana et lui dit que c'est pour ça qu'il ne voulait pas commencer quelque chose avec elle. Cependant Mariana dit qu'elle adore sa mère malgré son excentricité et ils s'embrassent.

• Appartement de Mike

Alors que Brandon rentre chez son père, il découvre Dani en train de re-décorer sa chambre pour la faire "plus adulte". Brandon la remercie mais ne trouve pas ça nécessaire puisque ce n'est que temporaire. Dani tente de lui faire comprendre qu'avec Callie, ils n'arriveront jamais à vivre sous le même toit et que s'il restait là, cela leur permettrait de sortir ensemble. Brandon est perplexe mais Dani lui dit qu'elle va se charger de son père.

• Appartement de Donald

Donald demande à Callie comment elle va, comment ça a été pour elle et Jude ces dernières années : elle lui avoue que ça a été la galère puisqu'ils ont été dans plusieurs familles d'acceuil avant de tomber chez les Foster qui sont géniaux. Elle lui dit aussi qu'elle a été en détention deux fois et Donald n'en revient pas et s'excuse à nouveau de les avoir abandonner. Il lui dit que maintenant, il est là pour eux mais qu'il dira à Jude ce qu'elle veut qu'il lui dise.

• Chez les Foster

Le matin dans la cuisine, Mariana et Jesus se chamaillent sur le fait qu'il ne fera pas ses tâches ménagères puisqu'il n'a pas eu la chambre. De son côté, Jude annonce qu'il n'est plus sûr de vouloir son père mais Callie lui dit qu'elle va le faire avec lui et qu'ils devraient au moins l'écouter. Alors que tout le monde part pour le lycée, Callie dit à Stef et Lena que quoiqu'il arrive, elle et Jude les aiment très fort.

• Lycée Anchor Beach

Brandon vient voir Callie pour savoir comment elle va par rapport à la visite qu'elle va avoir avec son père mais elle lui dit qu'elle a déjà été le voir et lui fait entendre qu'il reste leur père quoiqu'il arrive. Brandon s'énerve de voir qu'elle pourrait changer d'avis et ne plus se faire adopter puisque leur père les a abandonné mais Callie s'en va en lui disant de ne pas parler de son père.

• Chez les Foster

Dans leur chambre, Stef et Lena prépare le kit de donation pour Timothy tandis que Stef s'amuse de voir que Lena a acheté des magazines féminins pour lui.

• Lycée Anchor Beach

Emma vient voir Jesus et s'excuse de ne pas avoir pu l'aider à réviser mais Jesus est préocupé de ne plus avoir de pilules alors qu'il est sensé avoir arrêté et retourne chez lui en chercher alors qu'Emma lui propose de déjeuner ensemble.

• Chez les Foster

Timothy est arrivé et Stef et Lena lui explique le fonctionnement du kit et qu'il peut aller dans leur salle de bain où des revues l'attendent. Lena et Stef vont dans le jardin et sont excitées par toute cette histoire, elles ne réalisent pas qu'elles vont avoir un bébé. Timothy quant à lui dans la salle de bain a comme un bloquage et aperçoit alors une photo de Stef et Lena avec leurs enfants et la cache. Jesus arrive alors dans la maison et alors qu'il cherche ses pilules tombe sur Timothy qui trouve une excuse nulle. Timothy arrive dans le jardin pour dire que Jesus est présent et s'en va, Jesus aperçoit alors le pot avec le don de Timothy et crie dans la maison.

Stef et Lena ont réuni toute la famille dans le salon et annoncent aux enfants qu'elles veulent avoir un enfant et que Lena le portera. Tous se réjouissent de la nouvelle et apprennent aussi que Timothy est le donneur, ce qu'ils trouvent répugnant puisque c'est leur prof. Brandon annonce aussi à Jesus qu'il peut prendre sa chambre et fait un énorme câlin à Stef avant de partir.

Dans sa chambre, Mariana est au téléphone avec Zac et ils jouent au jeu de celui qui raccroche le premier. Mariana finit par raccrocher mais le téléphone ressonne aussitôt : pensant que c'est Zac, elle répond enjoué mais il s'avère que c'est Amanda qui se met à l'insulter et qui lui dit de rester loin de son fils.

Le lendemain dans le salon, Callie et Jude attendant la visite de Donald. Celui-ci arrive et échange brièvement avec Jude pour ensuite leur annoncer que malgré son amour pour eux, il ne pourra jamais leur offrir une belle vie dans une belle maison comme celle-ci et que c'est peut-être mieux pour eux qu'ils renoncent à ses droits. Jude lui fait un câlin et lui dit au revoir tandis que Callie le raccompagne dehors. Callie le remercie d'avoir signé et d'avoir dit tout ça mais il lui répond qu'il sera toujours leur père mais qu'il ne peut pas être un parent.

Donald: You wanna come in?
Callie: No. I, uh I just I wanna know what you're gonna say to Jude.
Donald: What? Whaddaya mean?
Callie: Well, when he asks you why you stopped writing, and why when you got out of prison like a year ago, you didn't even bother to call us and don't say that you think we're better off without you because we both know that that is a cop out.
Donald: I had to get my life back together, Callie. Had to get a job, had to find a decent place to live.
Callie: Before you could even talk to us?
Donald: No. Before I could get you back. I didn't want this to go down like this. I wanted to have something to offer you. It just it takes time. I just wanna do right by you kids.
Callie: You can't ...You can't say those things to Jude. You're just gonna confuse him.
Donald: Callie, please, you've gotta give me a chance, Callie... Please.
Callie: No, you're too late. No, you're too late.

Foster's house

Lena: Hey. Your dinner's in the oven. How was group?
Callie: I didn't go. I just, um couldn't deal with it today so I hung out in the lobby. I wasn't like playing Candy Crush or anything, I did homework.
Lena: But group is a condition of your probation, you know.
Stef: She knows.
Lena: Your P.O. is going to get your attendance report.
Callie: No, I know. I'm gonna make it up. I just had a bad day.
Stef: You wanna talk about it?
Callie: I'm just hungry.

Stef: I think this whole thing with her father signing away his rights is probably hitting her pretty hard, you know.
Lena: Yeah, well, that's all the more reason for her to go to group, so she can talk about it.
Stef: Well, give her some time. She will. Not all of us are like you with your relentless need to process things the very second they happens. Some of us just need a little more time to figure out how we feel.

Brandon's room

Mariana: What's going on?
Jesus: I'm moving in.
Mariana: To Brandon's room? No. No way. What if I want it?
Jesus: Too bad. Snoozers are losers. Get out of my room.
Mariana: It's not your room!
Stef: Hey, hey, what is happening in here?
Mariana: He's trying to move into Brandon's room. Like, don't I get a say in this?
Jesus: It is my room now. I need some peace and quiet. I can't concentrate!
Mariana: Well, duh, you have ADHD.
Stef: Oh, hey. All right, that is enough, Mariana. Go to your room.
Jesus: Thank you.
Stef: What are you doing? What are you doing?
Jesus: I'm making the bed.
Stef: No no no no no. No one is moving in here. Go on, get out of here!
Jesus: You just told Mariana...
Stef: To go back to her room, yes, and the same applies to you. Go, now.
Jesus: Fine. Don't blame me when I fail Algebra.
Stef: Really?

Foster's kitchen

Jude: Hey. Are you gonna eat those?
Callie: Hey, so I've been thinking, um are you sure? Are you sure you wanna see Dad? What are you hoping he's gonna say?
Jude: I guess I just want a chance to say goodbye.
Callie: But what if he doesn't say goodbye, I mean ? What if he says, like, he wants to get us back or something? He won't, but if he did, what would you think?
Jude: I don't know. I mean, he is our dad.

Mike's flat

Brandon: He up yet?
Dani: He's in the shower.
Brandon: So listen, uh I wanted to thank you for the money and everything. And I want you to know that I'm gonna pay you back. I promise. I'm gonna get a job, or...
Dani: School is your job. Let's just say the money was a gift?
Brandon: Are you serious?
Dani: Totally. Makes me happy to help you out. I do have one request, though. You need to start playing piano again.
Brandon: Sure.
Dani: So get to it.
Brandon: Right now?
Dani: Come on, play for the cook.
Brandon: Ok.

Mike: Hey. Sorry. Wow. How'd you make this happen? He hasn't touched that thing since he moved in.
Dani: Maybe I'm a good influence.
Mike: So, um I've been thinking about our talk the other night, you know, you moving in, and you're right. Brandon probably has resented sharing Stef and Lena all this time you know, with the twins and now Callie and Jude and I just don't want him to feel like he has to share me, too. You know. Not right now.
Dani: Yeah, of course. No, you're right. You're 100% right.
Mike: It's not that I don't appreciate everything you're doing. I do. Just maybe when he moves back to his mom's we can revisit the idea.
Dani: Yeah, of course. Ok.

Anchor Beach

Brandon: Oh-oh, bad news?
Mariana: If you consider getting kissed and dumped on the same day bad news.
Brandon: Well, you didn't give him your underwear, too, did you? Relax, I'm kidding. Since I moved to Dad's, I don't get to tease you as much. Kinda my job as a big brother.
Mariana: Yeah, well, we miss you, too.
Brandon: How is everyone? How's Callie? Is she happy to be home?
Mariana: She is. How about you, how's life in the man cave?
Brandon: I'm on lock down.
Mariana: Why?
Brandon: I told my dad about the piano money and everything.
Mariana: Ouch. Well, it sucks you're grounded, but to be honest, I'm a little relieved that Mike's isn't all fun and games, 'cause then you'd never want to come home. I mean, you are gonna move back, right?
Brandon: Definitely.
Mariana: Good, 'cause Jesus is eyeing your room. If you don't come soon, you might not have a room to come home to. Don't be a stranger.

Emma: Foster, you ok?
Jesus: I don't get this crap. If I fail this midterm, I'm totally getting kicked off the wrestling team.
Emma: Haven't you been studying?
Jesus: I'm tryin'.
Emma: I'm sure it's tough with Lexi in town.
Jesus: Lexi left. We broke up.
Emma: Oh, yeah?
Jesus: She hooked up with some guy in Honduras. Hey, do you think maybe you and me could study together tonight?
Emma: Um Yeah I don't think I can. Sorry.

Jesus: I need my own room.
Mariana: Need? Really? Well I need One Direction tickets. I'm pretty that's not gonna happen either.
Jesus: Come on. What is it gonna take for you to help me convince Moms that I should get Brandon's room? Tommy, I'll have that.
Tommy: Whatever.
Mariana: Jesus.
Jesus: So if I do your chores for a week?
Mariana: A week? Oh hells no. Six months.
Jesus: Six months? Are you insane. I'm not gonna be your slave. One month.
Mariana: Four.
Jesus: One.
Mariana: Mmmm no, I don't think so.
Jesus: Two months. Then you've got to go to bat for me with Moms.

Jesus: What?
Mariana: It's Zac's mom. I'm pretty sure she hates me. Please, don't leave me alone with her.

Amanda: You're Mariana, right? I'm Amanda Rogers, Zac's mom.
Mariana: Is Zac ok? He was home sick, right?
Amanda: Lovesick's more like it. And I think that what he really needs is, um, a little cheering up.

Lena's office

Timothy: And just so you know, I just had my annual physical and got tested for, you know, everything and all clear.
Stef: What? This is a primal need for you to spread your seed?
Lena: Honey.
Stef: What, I just I'm curious why he would want to donate in the first place.
Timothy: I guess that could seem a little odd to you. Um Very few people find it in their hearts to open their homes to foster children, not to mention the "high risk" ones. You're the kind of parents that should be bringing kids into this world, so...
Lena: Good answer.
Stef: Um, you'll, uh, you'll sign a contract?
Timothy: What sort of contract? I didn't...
Stef: Well, basically that says we're the parents, not you.
Timothy: Um, yeah, yeah, of course.
Stef: And we all agree that anonymity is best, yeah?
Timothy: Absolutely.
Lena: Right now we don't want anyone, mostly our kids to know that it's you, especially while they're your students.
Timothy: Yeah, got it. Right, good thinking.
Lena: So are we are we doing this?
Stef: Yeah.

Mariana: Mom? What are you ?
Stef: Hi. I I was visiting your beautiful Mama.
Mariana: Hmm. Romance at lunch. Nice. Way to up your game.
Stef: I... I don't need more game. I've got plenty of game.
Mariana: Zac's mom invited me over for dinner tonight. Is it ok if I eat there? I promise I'll be home early. Please.
Stef: That's not the problem. We just... We were planning on inviting B over for dinner tonight. There's a couple of things we want to talk to you guys about.
Mariana: What about? Is everything ok?
Stef: Nothing's wrong, just a kind of a you know, how's-everybody-doing check in/update kinda thing. Sort of a team meeting.
Mariana: Well, have you talked to Mike about that? Because Team Member Brandon is grounded.
Stef: He's grounded?

At Daphne's job

Callie: You couldn't even answer my texts?
Daphne: I have a limited data plan.
Callie: Oh, come on. Ok, I know what I did sucks. You asked me to forgive you once. How about you return the favor?
Daphne: Why you even want to be friends? The only thing we have in common is Girls United and that's history.
Callie: Well, history means something to me. Not like I have that much of it.
Daphne: So what happens the next time something goes missing? I'm always gonna be a thief or a drug dealer to you.
Callie: No, that's not true. I'm sorry. Ok, really. I know what it's like to be judged for your past. And I know, you and I don't have exactly the same background. But it's not like I belong at Anchor Beach either, with girls who ugly cry when their Facebook photos don't get enough "likes". I'm not kidding. I saw my dad.

At Mike's flat

Mike: Look, I know how bad it feels to be out of the loop when it comes to our son. It's how I've felt the past ten years, but I had to trust that you and Lena were always looking out for B's best interest, now you have to trust me.
Stef: You must be loving this. Your chance to turn the tables on us, isn't it?
Mike: I'm not loving this. This isn't about me, this isn't a game, Stef. It's about our son. Look, ever since Callie came to live with you guys, Brandon's been acting out.
Stef: Oh, really, ok.
Mike: Yes. And the good news is, that he came clean about the money and gave it all back. He's talking to me, he trusts me. He's back on the right track. I think living here is great for him.
Stef: Brandon may be living under your roof, but I am still his mother, and technically, Mike, legally, I have custody.
Mike: I'm well aware of that, Stef.
Stef: I will not be kept out of the loop when it comes to what is going on with my son. I need to be consulted about every decision regarding him.
Mike: Ok.
Stef: Thank you.

Dani: I thought you handled that really well. But, listen, if he's gonna move out eventually, isn't it better to just do it now before we upset everyone? I mean, it's not like Stef's ever gonna give up control.
Mike: No. You know what? Brandon's happy here, he's doing great. I'm not gonna let Stef manipulate me again.
Dani: You're right. You're totally right. He's a young man now and he needs his father.

Foster's house

Lena: Guess what?
Stef: What?
Lena: I'm ovulating!
Stef: Wow! Whoa. That's wow, ok. But we still have to have the contract drawn up and Timothy has to sign it.
Lena: I hear you, but we both know, my hormone levels could drop at any moment. Do we really want to take that chance?
Jesus: Hey.
Stef: Hey.
Jesus: So I talked to Mariana and it's all good.
Stef: Uh, what's all good?
Jesus: She's cool with me moving into Brandon's room.
Lena: I didn't realize that was up for discussion.
Stef: It's not.
Jesus: What? Why not?
Stef: Because it's Brandon's room and he's coming home soon.
Jesus: When?
Stef: I don't know, sweetheart but it's gonna be soon. And when he does, his room's gonna be waiting for him. Got it?
Jesus: So I get a half of one room and Brandon gets two rooms. It's great, just great. You always put Golden Boy first.
Stef: Oh.

Lena: All right, you know what? I think maybe you're right. We should just wait until next month to, um, inseminate.
Stef: Look, sit. Sit sit sit. You always put everyone else first. Let's not wait. Let's do it now, ok? As long as the contract is signed before the baby is born, it's all good.
Lena: Are you sure?
Stef: Yeah. But can we just, um maybe wait to tell the kids until we are actually pregnant? That would be great.

At Daphne's job

Callie: If he was trying to get us back, why not at least call us? I mean, he's been out of prison a year. How long does it take to get your act together when your kids are at stake?
Daphne: It can take longer than you think.
Callie: I'm sorry. I didn't mean...
Daphne: It's hard enough trying to get a good job out of juvie, let alone outta prison like your dad.
Callie: Well, you're nothing like my dad.
Daphne: How was it? Seeing him, I mean?
Callie: Weird. I thought I was just gonna tell him to leave us alone. I thought, "You're the reason that Mom's dead" and then you basically abandoned us, so screw you." And then he opened the door, and there he was my dad. He was never a great dad. He wasn't really around all that much when we were kids. But he was still my dad. Donald: Hey. Come on in. I'm kinda surprised you came back. Does your your foster family, they know you're here?
Callie: No, they think I'm working on a project for school.

Callie: Um, why'd you stop writing to us?
Donald: You know, after you've been in prison for a couple of years, you, uh you start to think maybe you're not gonna get out. I told myself you kids were better off. Truth is, I was pretty messed up. And I felt ashamed about what I'd done. And I was just waiting for the day to come when I'd open up a letter from you accusing me of murdering your mother.
Callie: You didn't murder her.
Donald: Yeah, I did. I got drunk, I got behind the wheel, she's dead. I mean, I didn't use a gun, but it all added up the same.

Donald: So what about you?

Donald: Well how've you been?

Callie: Um, pretty awful. Jude and I have been in six different foster homes. They've all basically sucked until this one. And I went to juvie a couple of times myself..
Donald: Really? Juvie? You were such a good girl.

Donald: No, you just you just rubbed your nose like... It takes me back. When you were a little kid, you used to rub your nose and suck your thumb to help you go to sleep. Your mom and I thought we broke you of the habit. Callie, I know, I know, I failed you and Jude in every way a man can possibly fail his kids, and I know this happened all wrong. You weren't supposed to show up at my door, looking for me. I wanna tell you something now, ok? And you can take this to the bank. I am here for you now. Lena: So we were going to wait until later, to tell you guys this, but since the cat's outta the bag we are trying to have a baby.
Brandon: What adopt a baby?
Mariana: Oh my God, a baby! We've never had one of those. Please get a girl!

Stef: We're not gonna adopt. Mama wants to carry the baby.
Lena: We've decided to give it a try. And we have a donor.

But, um the truth is your mother did all the raising when you were little. And these ladies, Lena and Stef, they seem really nice and this is a... This is a really this is a really good home, this is. I could never provide you with anything like this. So I think it's for the best.
