• Au cottage

Brandon et Callie sont allongés près l'un de l'autre et s'embrassent. Brandon pense qu'il devrait retourner dans sa chambre par peur que Mariana se réveille mais Callie veut qu'il reste. Elle lui confie qu'elle voudrait qu'ils restent comme ça toute leur vie et il sourit. Ils s'inquiètent de si Stef et Lena sont déjà au courant de leur baiser lors de la collecte de fonds et de leur relation. Brandon pense qu'en plus d'être en colère et déçues, elles seront surtout profondément tristes de ne pas pouvoir l'adopter. Callie se rassure en disant qu'au moins, ils sont ensemble.

• Chez les Foster

Brandon, Callie et Mariana arrivent chez eux et Mariana filent directement sous la douche. Brandon et Callie se tiennent brièvement la main avant d'entrer dans la maison et se dirigent vers la cuisine où Stef, Lena, Rita et Jude les attendent. Ils ont des têtes sérieuses et d'un coup explosent de joie lorsque Stef dit que l'assistante sociale a accordé son adoption. Brandon et Callie sont sous le choc et prétendent d'être heureux tandis que tout le monde sert Callie dans leurs bras.

• Chez les Foster

Sous le porche, Rita et Callie discutent : Rita la remercie de lui avoir envoyé l'enregistrement et lui confie qu'elle n'a pas aimé tout ce qu'elle a entendu mais que dorénavant, c'est terminé. Elle lui apprend que Carmen et Brooke sont retournées en détention et qu'après une discussion avec Rita, Carmen a décidé de ne pas balancer Callie. Elle lui explique qu'elle l'a sauvée avec l'enregistrement et qu'elle lui renvoie l'ascenseur car tout le monde mérite une famille que les Foster, c'est la sienne et s'en va, Callie reste pensive.

Dans la cuisine, Lena tente de discuter avec Stef : elle veut annuler la réception pour les 40 ans de mariage de ses parents vu les tensions actuelles entre elles. Stef ne veut pas puisque ses parents seraient déçus et que ça ne se fait pas d'annuler à la dernière minute. Lena veut leur laisser du temps pour que les choses s'arrangent mais Stef lui rétorque que les choses ne vont pas s'arranger tout de suite et sort prendre un appel.

Dans la jardin, Stef est au téléphone avec le Dr. Weiss et lui annonce que sa mammographie n'était pas très bonne et qu'elle voudrait reprendre des images. Stef s'inquiète mais son docteur lui assure qu'elles n'ont pas à s'inquiéter pour le moment.

Dans sa chambre, Brandon fait les cents pas et Callie le rejoint. Ils flippent tous les deux et ne comprennent pas ce qui a pu se passer mais Callie l'informe que apparemment, Rita a convaincu Carmen de ne rien dire. Callie s'inquiète et assure que si elle avait su que l'adoption était toujours possible, elle n'aurait jamais couché avec lui, Brandon lui répond que lui non plus... Ils ne savent pas quoi faire.

Plus tard dans la cuisine, les parents de Lena arrivent et remercient Stef et Lena d'organiser l'anniversaire de mariage chez elles. Ils sont déçus d'apprendre que Jesus ne sera pas là puisqu'il a une compétition de lutte très importante et Stewart déplore de ne pas voir toute sa famille réunie. Lena demande s'ils ont des nouvelles de Nathan et ils lui répondent que non.

• Au lycée Anchor Beach

Dans son bureau, Lena reproche à Monte d'avoir dit à Jenna qu'elle l'a embrassée. Monte lui avoue alors qu'elle est amoureuse d'elle mais lui dit qu'elle sait que ce n'est pas réciproque et lui promet qu'elle n'essairait jamais de briser son mariage, Lena peine à la croire. Quelqu'un toque à la porte et Lena découvre Nathan qui souhaite lui parler.

• Au parc

Daphne est stupéfaite d'apprendre que Callie a couché avec Brandon et Callie rétorque qu'elle pensait que l'adoption allait être annulée mais Daphne s'étonne qu'elle soit directement allée dans le lit de Brandon. Callie est perdue, elle ne veut pas blesser Stef et Lena qui ont tant fait pour elle et Daphne lui demande si elle aime Brandon. Callie lui répond qu'elle ne sait pas, qu'elle ne peut pas l'aimer. Daphne la prend alors entre quatre yeux et la prévient : il ne s'agit pas de s'enfuir ou quelque chose dans le genre mais de trouver ce qu'elle veut et de faire tout ce qui est possible pour faire en sorte que ça se réalise.

• Au lycée Anchor Beach

Nathan tient à s'excuser auprès de Lena pour ce qu'il a dit à sa mère. Il lui avoue qu'il s'en souvient et qu'il se rappelle le regard de sa mère lorsqu'il l'a insultée. Il tente d'expliquer sa parole parce que le fait qu'il était en colère contre son père qui l'avait abandonné avec sa mère et ne s'était jamais occupé de lui mais il sait que c'est impadonnable. Il confie cependant à Lena qu'il est heureux d'avoir pu s'excuser.

• Chez les Foster

Dans la salle à manger, Stewart prépare un cadeau pour Dana lorsque Mariana arrive. Elle se confie sur sa relation avec Mat et lui dit qu'elle a fait quelque chose d'horrible et qu'il ne lui pardonnera jamais. Son grand-père lui assure que rien n'est impardonnable et que si elle veut le récupérer, elle va devoir se battre pour lui.

Dans la jardin, Lena et Dana installent la décoration. Lena parle de Nathan à sa mère et n'en revient pas qu'il ait juste tout remis sur le dos de son père. Dana lui explique que Nathan a le droit d'être en colère contre son père puisqu'il ne s'est pas occupé de lui et qu'elle sait qu'il n'a jamais voulu la blesser elle mais son père. Elle confie à Lena qu'elle a en fait de la compassion pour lui.

Dans le garage, Brandon et Mat répètent un morceau pour les grands-parents de Mat puisqu'ils se sont proposés pour faire la musique. Mariana arrive alors et les informe qu'elle souhaiterait chanter la chanson de leurs grands-parents et Brandon s'étonne qu'elle sache chanter. Mat décide de partir en expliquant que seul Brandon au clavier suffira pour la chanson.

• Chez le radiologue

Stef est dans le cabinet pour repasser une mammographie du sein gauche. Elle essaie de faire la discussion avec la radiologiste et tente de savoir si elle sait repérer les mauvaises choses sur les radios mais elle lui explique que le docteur la rappelera.

• Chez les Foster

Jude rentre chez lui et fonce directement dans sa chambre sous le regard surpris de Lena. Adam, le père de Connor rentre dans la maison et explique à Lena que lorsqu'il est rentré dans la chambre de Connor, il les a surpris torse-nus et qu'ils s'embrassaient. Lena comprend la situation et demande s'il a déjà eu LA discussion avec son fils.

Lena va alors voir Jude dans sa chambre qui l'informe qu'ils ne faisaient rien de grave. Lena lui assure qu'il n'aura pas de problème mais qu'il aurait probablement préféré puisqu'il est temps qu'ils aient LA discussion. Jude lui dit qu'ils ne couchent pas ensemble et Lena est rassurée mais lui avoue qu'elle ne sait pas beaucoup de choses sur les relations intimes entre deux garçons. Elle veut s'assurer qu'il sache se protéger lorsque le temps viendra et sort un préservatif devant Jude qui est très gêné.

Dans leur chambre, Lena informe Stef qu'elle a eu une discussion avec Monte, cette dernière lui a avoué être amoureuse d'elle mais elle lui a répondu qu'elle aimait sa femme. Lena s'énerve de voir que Stef continue de lui en vouloir de lui avoir caché le baiser après tout ce que elle, elle a pu lui cacher. Stef s'énerve à son tour : elle ne comprend pas comment Monte a pu tomber amoureuse d'elle sans encouragement. Lena lui avoue alors que oui, elle aimait l'attention mais qu'elle ne l'a jamais encouragée. Stef pense que c'est de sa faute et avoue à Lena qu'entre les enfants et son travail, elle n'a pas toujours le temps de la mettre en priorité numéro une. Elle se met à pleurer et se couche, laissant Lena en plan.

Pendant la nuit, Callie s'introduit dans la chambre de Brandon et le réveille en caressant son visage. Brandon ne comprend pas ce qu'elle fait dans sa chambre en pleine nuit mais Callie lui avoue alors qu'elle l'aime. Brandon lui dit que c'est réciproque et ils se font un câlin. Une porte claque dans le couloir et ils pensent que c'est plus prudent que Callie retourne dans sa chambre.

Le lendemain, dans le jardin, tout le monde s'affaire à préparer les tables. Jude discute avec Connor de sa discussion avec Lena et à quel point c'était gênant. Il veut savoir si Connor a aussi eu le droit à la fameuse discussion et il lui annonce qu'il pense à aller vivre chez sa mère à Los Angeles. Jude ne comprend pas pourquoi mais Connor lui explique que son père n'est pas d'accord avec eux ou avec lui.

Plus tard, Nathan arrive avec Faith à l'anniversaire de mariage et va voir Dana et Lena qui sont heureuses de le voir là. Stewart s'aperçoit de sa présence mais ne veut pas lui parler. Sa femme et Lena vont alors lui parler : elles expliquent qu'elles ont eu une discussion avec lui et qu'il s'est excusé. Elles ont décidé de lui pardonner et il doit, lui aussi, le faire. Il se dirige alors vers Nate et avant qu'il ne puisse dire quoique ce soit, il le prend dans ses bras.

L'heure du discours a sonné et Stewart remercie tout le monde d'être venu, en particulier Nate et Faith pour avoir fait le voyage. Il explique qu'à ses yeux, la famille et l'amour sont les deux choses les plus importantes et qu'il est reconnaissant d'avoir tout le monde réunit. Il remercie Dana d'avoir accepté leur premier rendez-vous et de se réveiller à côté d'elle tous les matins.

Stef de son côté reçoit un appel du docteur Weiss et s'éclipse. Lena l'a remarquée et la rejoint dans le garage. Stef lui annonce qu'elle a dû passer une seconde mammographie et Lena se précipite vers elle : Stef lui explique qu'elle ne lui a rien dit parce qu'elle était en colère contre elle mais lui annonce finalement qu'elle n'a rien. Lena se jète dans ses bras et est soulagée, elle remercie Dieu. Elle pleure dans les bras de Stef et cette dernière pense qu'il est temps qu'elles aient une discussion avant de retourner à la fête.

Mariana chante la chanson pour ses grands-parents "Love is everything" et tout le monde dans en slow : Stewart et Dana, Jude et Connor, Nate et Faith ainsi que Stef et Lena qui remarquent qu'elles dansent à l'endroit exact où elles ont échangé leurs voeux de mariage. Stef assure à Lena qu'elle pensait tout ce qu'elle disait ce jour-là et que rien ne pourra jamais changer cela. Lena part ensuite danser avec sa maman et lui confie qu'elle sait qu'elle a appelé Nathan pour qu'il vienne et la remercie d'avoir fait ce cadeau d'anniversaire à son père. Elle lui avoue qu'elle est son héros et Dana pleure dans les bras de sa fille. Mariana chante toujours la chanson et Mat ne supporte pas de l'entendre et s'en va tandis que Brandon et Callie s'échangent un long regard.

Dans la cuisine, Brandon et Callie regardent les gens danser par la fenêtre. Brandon et Callie s'inquiètent de ce qu'ils ont fait mais Brandon tente de se défendre en disant que techniquement, ils n'ont enfreint aucune règle puisqu'elle n'habitait même pas chez eux lorsqu'elle est venue à Idyllwild. Callie dit qu'ils ne devront jamais le dire à qui que ce soit et Brandon est d'accord. Il la rassure en disant que tout va bien se passer puisqu'elle a une famille et que c'est tout ce qui compte.

Adam vient chercher Connor et Jude lui ouvre tandis que Connor récupère sa veste. Jude veut savoir pourquoi il l'envoie chez sa mère mais Adam lui répond que ce n'est pas le cas, que malgré ses efforts c'est Connor qui a demandé à déménager.

Dans le garage, Mariana vient voir Mat qui range ses affaires. Elle lui explique qu'elle comprend qu'il soit en colère mais qu'elle ne va plus continuer à le supplier de lui pardonner puisqu'elle s'est pardonnée elle-même. Mat accepte et Mariana pense qu'il est prêt à se remettre avec elle mais il lui répond que non et s'en va.

Dans la nuit, tout le monde est couché et Callie enregistre un message pour son application "Fost and Found". Elle remercie les gens pour tous les messages qu'elle a pu recevoir et annonce qu'elle va se faire adopter le lendemain, qu'elle est très heureuse. Elle leur assure néanmoins qu'elle ne les abandonne pas et qu'elle sera toujours une enfant du système.

• Au tribunal

Toute la famille arrive et rejoint Mike, AJ et Rita dans le couloir venus les soutenir. L'assistante sociale veut parler avec Stef, Lena et Callie puisqu'elle a entendu parler d'une vidéo sur le net dans laquelle elle insulte le juge et veut que Callie s'excuse puisqu'il a été très offensé. Callie se défend de l'avoir insulté, elle a simplement dit la vérité et ne compte pas s'excuser pour ça. Lena essaie de la raisonner mais Callie leur confie qu'elle les aime tous, du plus profond de son coeur mais qu'elle ne peut pas retirer ce qu'elle a dit puisque trop de personnes comptent sur elle.

La famille rentre dans la salle d'audience et s'aperçoit que des dizaines d'enfants placés sont venus soutenir Callie. Le juge confronte Callie par rapport à la vidéo et elle ne compte pas s'excuser pour avoir osé dire les choses. Elle lui explique que le système est corrompu et que les seuls qui peuvent réellement comprendre n'ont pas le droit de parler. Elle reconnaît aussi qu'elle fait partie des chanceux puisqu'elle a trouvé une famille dans laquelle elle est en sécurité et aimée. Tandis que Callie continue son speech en disant que ses mères lui ont appris que lorsqu'on est chanceux, il fallait aider les autres, Jude prend la main de Connor. Le juge reconnaît que le système laisse tomber beaucoup d'enfants et qu'il est fier que Callie ait décidé de parler pour eux. Tout le monde applaudit et le juge réclame le silence pour parler de l'affaire Brandon : il veut savoir s'il y a un toujours un risque de ce côté-là. Callie hésite mais annonce haut et fort que tout est terminé entre eux. Le juge rend alors la chose officielle : Callie est adoptée par la famille Adams Foster. Tout le monde se lève et se serre dans les bras, tout le monde est heureux que Callie soit enfin adoptée.

En dehors de la salle, Jude prend Connor à part. Il lui explique que lorsqu'il a su qu'il voulait déménager avec sa mère, il n'a pas compris mais qu'en écoutant le discours de Callie sur la sécurité et le bonheur qu'on touve dans une famille, il s'est rendu compte qu'il voulait ça pour lui aussi. Ils se disent qu'ils s'aiment et se serrent dans les bras.

• Chez les Foster

Stef et Lena arrivent à la maison et découvrent une surprise faite par les enfants : Jesus est de retour ! Elles s'étonnent de le voir aussi grand et sont ravies de son retour. Il dit qu'il voulait faire une surprise pour l'adoption mais que le vol a été retardé. Toute la famille est heureuse et prépare le repas ensemble. Mariana met de la musique et avoue à Jesus qu'elle ne veut pas qu'il reparte mais il lui annonce qu'il ne peut pas y retourner. Tout le monde danse en préparant le repas tandis que Stef et Lena se font un câlin et dansent ensemble.

Brandon: I should probably go back to my room.
Callie: No.
Brandon: I'm afraid Mariana's going to wake up.
Callie: She won't. That girl sleeps like the dead, you know that. I wish we could stay here forever. And ever and ever.
Brandon: Do you think they know yet?
Callie: They will soon. If not from my social worker, from Rita. They're gonna be so mad. And hurt.
Brandon: I think they're going to be most upset that they can't adopt you. You okay?
Callie: I got you, don't I?

At the Fosters

Mariana: Dibs on the first shower.

In the kitchen

Jude: I tried baseball with Connor for a while. That was it was fun. It was cool.
Callie: Hey.
Rita: Hi, Callie. Hi, Brandon.
Brandon: Hey, Rita. Good to see you.
Stef: So we, uh, we heard from Robin. And she spoke with everyone at Girls United. She's, um She's recommending your adoption.
Rita: What about that?
Stef: Best news ever. Isn't that great?
Lena: Finally, we did it! Finally! Can you believe it?
Callie: No, I can't.
Stef: So happy. So happy.

Rita: Oh come into my office, will you?
Callie: So, did you, um you didn't listen to the recording I sent you?
Rita: Oh, no, I did. I listened to the whole thing. Thanks for sending it. You totally saved my ass. Um, I didn't like everything that I heard on it. But listen, it's over now, right?
Callie: What happened with Brooke and Carmen?
Rita: Well, they're back in juvie. And, uh, Carmen is not going to be in the army any time soon.
Callie: She must've been really upset.
Rita: Yes, she was. But I told her I believed in her, you know, and I forgave her. And that I know she's not the kind of person who wants to just go ruin somebody's life because she can, especially yours. You saved me. I save you. You know why? Because everyone deserves a family. And this one, kid… That's yours. You enjoy it, all right? I gotta go home. Call me tomorrow.

In the kitchen

Lena: Honey?
Stef: Hmm?
Lena: I... Do you think we should cancel the party? I think my parents would understand.
Stef: Why? Why would we do that?
Lena: Because you're barely speaking to me, and I don't think we're in a good place right now to be hosting some big anniversary shindig.
Stef: Aren't your parents coming down tonight? It'd be a little rude to cancel last minute.
Lena: I think they'd understand. I just I want to give us a little time so that we can work this out, we can make this okay.
Stef: Well, nothing is going to make things okay right now, so we might as well suck it up and have a party. [Phone ringging] I gotta get this. Excuse me.

In the garden

Stef: Hello?
Dr. Weiss: Stef? It's Dr. Weiss.
Stef: Yes. Hey, how are you? What's going on?
Doctor: Well, I'm looking at the results of your mammogram, and they're inconclusive.
Stef: Okay.
Doctor: So we need you to come back in to reimage.
Stef: Uh, sure. Uh, should I be worried?
Doctor: Let's not worry until we know we have something to worry about.

Brandon's room

Brandon: What happened?
Callie: I don't know. I guess Rita talked to Carmen, and it kind of just went away, I guess. I don't... Oh, my god. Oh, my god.
Brandon: Calm down. Calm down for a sec. Everything's going to be all right.
Callie: What? How is it going to be all right? Okay, we had sex. I I thought... I thought the adoption was completely off the table. I would've... I would've never...
Brandon: I know. Me neither.
Callie: What are we going to do?

In the kitchen

Lena: Well, look who I found hanging around the airport.
Stef: Oh, hello!
Stewart: Hello, beautiful! How are you?
Stef: How was your trip?
Dana: Oh, good.
Stef: Yeah? Uneventful?
Dana: Yes.
Stef: Good, good. Anybody hungry? I got leftovers from dinner.
Dana: No, we just ate at the airport.
Stewart: Any excuse for pizza.
Stef: Well, how about some wine?
Stewart: Oh, well, we wouldn't say no to that.
Stef: I didn't think so.
Dana: Thank you both so much for doing this for us.
Lena: Well, we're happy to do it.
Stef: Absolutely. I mean, my goodness, 40 years. That is, uh that is quite an accomplishment.
Stewart: It seems like 40 minutes underwater. Oh, hey now...
Dana: You're so awful.
Lena: So, uh, Jesus sends his love.
Dana: Oh, good.
Stewart: Oh, he's not going to make it?
Lena: No. He's got his first big wrestling meet.
Stewart: Oh, well, we understand. But it is a shame. It would be nice to have the whole family together.Lena: Has anyone heard from Nate?
Dana: No.

In Lena's office

Lena: Why would you tell Jenna that you kissed me?
Monte: You know why we broke up, right? I finally told her that the reason I'm having a hard time falling in love with her is because I've already fallen in love with somebody else. With you.
Lena: Yeah, I I got that.
Monte: Hey, I know it's not okay. I know. You don't... I know you don't feel the same way about me. And I promise I would never, ever want to break up a marriage. I just, uh I guess I needed to say that out loud.
Lena: Did you?

Nathan: Uh, sorry for barging in, uh have you got a sec?

In a park

Daphne: You slept with him? Girl, what is wrong with you?
Callie: I... I thought the whole adoption thing wasn't I was 100% sure that Carmen was going to blow it for me.
Daphne: So you jump into bed with him the first chance you got?
Callie: We were in a cabin, in the woods. Okay? It just happened.
Daphne: So what are you going to do? Tell your moms? Call off the adoption?
Callie: I can't. It would it would destroy them. I don't know what I can do, honestly. It would be so horrible for me to betray them like that after everything they've done for me, I...
Daphne: What about Brandon?
Callie: What about Brandon?
Daphne: Do you love him?
Callie: I don't know. I can't love him now I can't I can't deal with this.
Daphne: Listen to me. Don't go getting any big ideas about running away or taking off or something. You figure it out. You decide what you want and then you make it happen.

In Lena's office

Nathan: I want you to know how mortified I am by what I said, what I called your mom. I remember. Of course I remember. I'll never forget the look on your mom's face after that word came out of my mouth. And the fact that you had to hear it, makes it a hundred times worse. I wish I could tell you why I said it. I think I was just so furious with Dad. For leaving me with Mom, for missing birthdays, for missing every single play I did, for missing graduation, for... Basically sucking. Anyway I know it's unforgivable. But I'm glad I at least had the chance to tell you how sorry I am.

In the living room

Mariana: Pretty. What is it?
Stewart: Oh, it's, uh a diner where we had our first date. I had a painter friend of ours make it for Dana. I hope she likes it.
Mariana: She will. Trust.
Stewart: We'll see. Your grandmother's pretty particular about her gifts. But, in any case, it's going to be a great evening, and good food, good friends, and your brother even offered to play some music for us. Yeah, Mr. Fancy-Pants, award-winning composer, said he and his buddy Mat are going to do it as our gift. What's going on?
Mariana: Nothing. I just - I did something pretty awful... And Mat and me broke up. That's all.
Stewart: Do you love him? Want him back? You're going to have to fight for him. Get him to forgive you.
Mariana: Yeah, that's pretty unlikely.
Stewart: Sweetheart, nothing you could ever do, no matter how terrible, nothing is unforgivable.

In the garden

Dana: Hmm?
Lena: I mean, sure he apologized, but he basically blamed the whole thing on Daddy.
Dana: He did? Really?
Lena: Well, not the whole thing, but he might as well have.
Dana: Lena, Nate had a right to be angry with your dad. As good a father as he was to you, honey, he dropped the ball with his son.
Lena: So what? That gives him permission to insult you like that?
Dana: Of course not, honey, but, you know, ever since we confronted him, I've been thinking about why this whole thing just never bothered me the way it bothered you. The truth of the matter is, honey, I think I've always known that Nate was never actually trying to hurt me. He was trying to hurt his dad, by lashing out at the... The one thing he loved the most.
Lena: You. But, uh, does that make it okay, Mom?
Dana: No, it doesn't, but I... I understand it, and I have compassion for this very scared, angry young man. Don't you, baby?

In the garage

Mariana: Sorry. I didn't realize you were still rehearsing. But, um I have an idea. I uh, thinking maybe I could sing a song for Grams and Grandpa?
Brandon: Do you sing?
Mariana: Yes, I sing. And I was doing some research and it just so happens that the number one song the year they got married was "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain and Chenille. Or something.
Mat: Sounds great. Um, but it'll probably sound better with, uh with just piano, so, um, I'll let you guys to it.
Brandon: Do you still want to do the song?
Mariana: Yeah, of course.

At the doctor

Doctor: Are you wearing any lotion or perfumes?
Stef: Uh, no, I'm not. Okay, good.
Doctor: And we're reimaging the left breast? Correct. All right. Drop the shoulder of your gown, step up to the yellow line. Correct. Arm up.
Stef: It must be some pretty nasty stuff, huh?
Doctor: Mm-hmm.
Stef: Looking at these images all day, probably got a pretty good eye, at this point, for anything concerning, right?
Doctor: Yeah. The doctor will call you with your results.
Stef: Okay.
Doctor: Here we go. Stay as still as you can, please.

At the Fosters

Lena: Hey, bubba. Jude? What happened?
Adam: I, uh walked into Connor's room, and I found the two of them, making out, with their shirts off.
Lena: Uh, what did you do?
Adam: I told Jude that it was time for me to take him home.
Lena: Okay. So have you, uh Have you had the talk with Connor yet?

In Jude's room

Jude: We weren't really doing anything.
Lena: Okay.
Jude: So I'm not in trouble?

Lena: So, I, um I had a little talk with Monte today.
Stef: Really?
Lena: Yep. She, uh she told me that she told me that she's in love with me.
Stef: What did you say?

Stef: Well, there's one thing you didn't keep to yourself.
Lena: Really? You're going to hold this against me this one thing that I didn't tell you? Because I didn't want you to feel weird or awkward or whatever. After the dozens and dozens of secrets you've kept from me.
Stef: Oh, is that what we're doing, we're keeping score now? Really? Let me ask you this: How does someone fall in love with someone just like that? Out of the blue, without any encouragement, Lena? Did it just happen? Is it something she caught, like a virus or a cold? Is it contagious?
Lena: Stef, I'm not trying to fight you here. I'm trying to fight for us. Are you asking me if I liked the attention? Because, yes, yes, I did. I liked it. [Stef cries] I'm not saying that I encouraged it, but I admit that I didn't do enough to stop it.

Jude: But I had no clue, like, what she was planning. And then she pulled out a condom. I thought I was gonna die. I mean, for a lesbian, she sure knows a lot about how guys have sex. How was your dad? Did he give you the talk too?

Stewart: He did? I have tried since I fell in love with you to protect you from as much of the racism and the bigotry in this world as I possibly could.
Dana: Oh, my love. What an impossible task you've given yourself. It's all right. We've forgiven him. You can too.
Lena: I promise, it's okay.
Dana: It's okay.
Nathan: Dad I'm so sorry.
Stewart: Me too.

Stewart: I want to thank you. Thank you all for being here. And thank you to my beloved daughter and her wonderful wife for throwing this shindig and bringing us all together. And a special thank you to my son, and the lovely Faith for making this long journey to get here and be here with us. I'll never forget it. Brandon: But we didn't. We didn't even break any rules. Think about it. Technically, we weren't even fostering when you came to Idyllwild. You were staying at G.U. And the thought of adoption wasn't even a possibility.

Brandon: We didn't do anything wrong. You don't think so?
Callie: We can't... We can't ever tell anyone.
Brandon: I know. We won't. It's going to be okay, Callie. This is your family. That's all that matters.

Callie: Um, so, firstly, I want to say, um I've been really overwhelmed by all your messages. If I've inspired you in any way, it just makes it all worth it. So... So I am getting adopted tomorrow. I... I can't even believe it's finally going to happen. You guys have no idea what a ride it's been. I'm just really happy. I do want you to know that it doesn't mean that I'm leaving you. Stef: Oh. Hi, you guys. Thank you for coming.
Mike: Hey.

Social worker: Excuse me. I... I need to talk to you.
Stef: Oh, yeah. Uh, Lena? Lena, honey?
Lena: Oh, hi.
Social worker: The judge saw some website of Callie's Fost and Something and he didn't like it, at all.
Lena: Why... Why wouldn't he like it?
Social worker: Apparently, there's a video where you talk about him. So, the first thing we need to do when we get into that courtroom, we have to apologize, you need to apologize. Do you understand me?
Callie: Apologize for what?
Social worker: For insulting Judge Ringer in that video you posted.
Callie: I didn't insult him. I was just telling the truth. I'm not I'm not going to apologize for that.
Lena: Callie, think about this, please. This might not be the moment for you to...
Callie: What? Stand up for what I believe in? I love you both, with all of my heart, and you know how much I want to be a part of this family, but I can't take back what I said. I mean, there's too many people counting on me. I can't.
Lena: So, do you understand what this means?

Mariana: They're foster kids. They're here to support Callie.
Judge: All right, everyone, thank you. That's enough. Well, Callie, welcome back. I wish I could say I was entirely happy to see you. Unfortunately, I was sent a video which I found somewhat upsetting, and, quite frankly, a little insulting.
Callie: I didn't mean to offend you, sir.
Judge: Really? You, uh, called me out by name. You said I was making these decisions about your life without any consideration of what you wanted.
Callie: Because that's how it felt. The system is broken, sir, badly. And the only people who really understand just how bad are the ones without any say, without any voice. Somebody has got to speak up.
Judge: And that someone is going to be you, is it?
Callie: Yes. I'm one of the lucky ones. You know, I found an amazing family, and I'm finally safe and loved, like, really, truly loved. And one of the things I've learned from my moms, from watching the way they've lived their lives, is that when you're lucky, it is your job to give something back. And when you see something wrong, to stand up and to say so. So, I'm really sorry if I offended you. It was not my intention. I'm not going to apologize for standing up. Somebody has to.
Judge: Well, I wish it weren't the case... But the's a lot of truth in what you're saying. It's no secret the system is failing a lot of kids, and that someone needs to do something about it. I'm proud of you for being that person. [Crowd applause] Quiet, please. Quiet, please. Now, your social worker has done a thorough investigation of the restraining order against Brandon Foster and tells me there is no reason to believe there's anything here to prevent your adoption. But I was watching you in there when Callie was talking about how great it is to finally be you know, happy and safe, and to have a family that is really, truly there for her. Brandon: Hey, Moms, can you come in here for a sec? There's someone here to see you.
Stef: What? Who's here?
Jesus: Surprise.
Lena: Jesus!
Stef: Oh! Oh, my god! Look at you!
Lena: You got so tall.
Stef: What is going on? What are they feeding you over there? I thought you were at some big wrestling thing or something.
Jesus: That was just a cover so I could surprise you. I was trying to get here in time for Callie's adoption, but my flight got delayed. I didn't want to miss this, and our first night together as a family.
Stef: Right? We're all together!
Jesus: Is there any food?
Stef: Oh, my goodness.
Jesus: I'm starving.
Lena: What a surprise. Of course. Let's make some dinner for Jesus.
Mariana: Okay. We need some music. Aw, I'm so happy you're here. I don't want you to go back.
